Microwave links offer high speed connections with minimum deployment time resulting in significant savings compared to traditional leased line connections. The purpose of this project was to design and implement a 10 GHz microwave data transceiver.
The transceiver is connected to a 10Mbps ethernet card enabling the transfer of data between two nodes at very high speeds. Typical applications include video transmission and interconnecting corporate networks without resorting to expensive leased lines.
This work is divided into three main parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical background related to microwave links. The second part focuses on the design and implementation of the 10GHz microwave data tranceiver and finally, the third part focuses on the testing and future developments of the microwave link.
