Dissertation Abstract / Summary:

The swift development of the Internet has had a remarkable impact in the way instructions are delivered in educational systems. Over the past decade, technology has been widely used in delivering and supporting learning. Learning has taken an entirely different route. This thesis provides readers with a comprehensive overview of security issues relevant to e-learning. Even though security has become paramount in many other areas of Web-based developments, research in e-learning is still hardly concerned about the issues of security and privacy.

However, this research has revealed that there is a high demand for a more secured and reliable e-learning framework and by so doing presents an e-learning framework/outline that offers security. A review of different perspectives, case studies and past researches was carried out on the successes that have been achieved and improvement made in e-learning.
