Effectiveness Off The Cognitive Restructuring Approach On Irrational Believes And Hopelessness In Individuals With Substance Abuse Disorder

The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of restructuring approach on Irrational believes and hopelessness in individuals with Substance abuse disorder. In this study, 24 patients with a substance abuse in an addiction treatment center were selected by convenience sampling method and were assigned randomly in Two experimental and control groups(each group=12). experimental group received an 8 sessions of 90 minutes for Cognitive restructuring intervention. for analyzing the data, ANCOVA Test were applied. Results: The results showed that cognitive restructuring approach, has been effective on reducing irrational beliefs and hopelessness of experimental group individuals. Conclusion: according to this study, Cognitive restructuring intervention can be lead to improve of irrational beliefs and hopelessness in individuals with substance abuse.
